Partners, CPAs, Accountants, and Administrative Staff from Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra spent a few hours preparing for the Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving meal program. The event was coordinated with the help of Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) and involved working with Peggy Vick, Director of Family Services and Volunteer Services for The Salvation Army.
A team of twenty+ employees volunteered at the Salvation Army warehouse in Hampden on November 22nd for a turkey-carving project in preparation for the holiday meal. Volunteers worked to debone the turkeys and package the meat so it was ready to serve to Salvation Army families for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Through a partnership with BVU, WC&S employees get the opportunity to volunteer for different organizations with full support from the firm’s management. “Our employees have a strong desire to work in on projects that make an impact in our communities, so a day helping at the Salvation Army was a perfect fit,” said Carol Frontera, Marketing Coordinator at WC&S. “Peggy is so dedicated and has such a big heart. We can all learn a lot from her example.”
WC&S employees had a great time, were so quick, and efficient that Peggy has asked them to return every year to get the job done! The volunteers are more than willing to make this a yearly WC&S tradition.
