David Crisp, Manager at Weyrich, Cronin & Sorra, Chartered (WC&S) is using his talents to volunteer as a Cash Coach for the Baltimore CASH Campaign.

Through WC&S’ partnership with Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU), Dave recently answered a call for help. The Baltimore CASH Campaign was in need of volunteers to become Cash Coaches. The Baltimore CASH Campaign strives to provide working families access to the tools and services needed to maximize their earning dollars.

The Campaign doesn’t end with tax preparation. Working with financial institutions and community development organizations, the Campaign links families and individuals to asset building resources.

Dave will be matched with a Campaign client and work one-on-one with them to help them achieve their goals. He will provide free support tailored to the unique financial situation of the client. Dave will help the client learn skills such as money management, starting and maintaining a budget, debt management, saving toward a goal, establishing credit, or credit repair.

There are about 3 or 4 monthly meetings between the Cash Coach and the client during the summer and fall and then the program ends. Then next summer Dave will be matched with a new client and the process will begin again.
